"A house is not a home without a pet." ~ Anonymous
Luis and I were married in the fall of 2004. Within a week of returning from our honeymoon we felt that our new life together wouldn't be complete without a pet of our own!
Then we got Oscar...
Oz has to be one of the funniest and smartest dachshunds in existence! He loves to play fetch and when he is not making us laugh he is demanding that we hold him and kiss him!
About three weeks after we got Oscar we saw an ad in the newspaper for a dachshund, "last one of the litter, 3 months old." I begged Luis to go and get it...and he said no. But a couple of weeks later the ad was still there and we just had to give this puppy a home! This is where Iggy comes in!

Iggy is a die-hard fan of tummy rubs and treats! He loves to chase the red laser lights. He gets so excited he will look for the light a long hour after we're done playing! He is also the best cuddler!!!
The Aguilar family was complete!!!
Until there was Maggie...

Maggie was brought to Bethany Animal Hospital in 2006 by her owner's to be euthanized. Her owners claimed that she had separation anxiety and decided that this was the best solution. One of the wonderful Doctors at Bethany asked the owners to surrender Maggie to the hospital as an alternative and Maggie had been a resident of the hospital ever since.
I began working at Bethany Animal Hospital in February of 2009. Maggie still had not been adopted and every day I went to work I saw her adorable face! She was just waiting for some love and a comfy bed...
Now Maggie lives with us and is happier than ever! She has her own bed and often takes ours. She discovered what a space heater is, and will pace around the room until I turn it on for her. She has lots of energy, is in great health and will turn 15 this November.
She is our little princess!
Our little princess passed away on September 29th 2010. She would have been 16 in November. We miss her everyday!
